A woman has been officially charged with manslaughter and concealing the death of her husband, whose skeletal remains were found. The police have also charged her four children and a friend in connection with the case.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga stated that the discovery of George Kalaba’s remains was reported by his older brother, Emmanuel Kalaba. After a thorough investigation, the following individuals have been arrested and charged: Sylvia Mutoba, 51, who is the wife of the deceased; Preteria Mbandama Musela, 44; Wendy Kalaba, 27; Sandra Kalaba, 22; Natasha Kalaba, 19; and a 15-year-old female juvenile.
Mr. Hamoonga noted that all suspects live in Luangwa, Garden township, and they face joint charges of manslaughter and concealing a death. He also mentioned that investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mr. George Kalaba’s death are still ongoing and reminded the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
