Kalusha Bwalya, the celebrated FAZ president who led Zambia to victory in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, has declared his intention to run for the FAZ presidency in the upcoming elections scheduled for March 29, 2025. The 1988 African Footballer of the Year has also notified the CAF leadership of his candidacy for the top football position in Zambia.
In a recent interview, Kalusha revealed that his decision to seek the FAZ presidency again comes in response to many appeals from supporters urging him to take on the role. He emphasized that his campaign will focus on uniting the football community and fostering the growth of the sport. āIām definitely in the running. Zambian football must prosper and unite,ā he stated.
Kalusha, who is currently in Europe, plans to hold a press briefing in Lusaka in the coming weeks after spending time with family during the holidays. FAZ has confirmed that the elective Annual General Meeting will take place on March 29, 2025.
